Laura shares her perspective on her relationship with Apparo:
My husband, E.J., and I have always had a big heart for nonprofits and wanted to give back, but were not always sure how to do that while running our business. When we heard about Apparo, we thought it would be a perfect match. We did our first volunteer project, and it was amazing to have the Apparo team managing the relationship, defining the scope of work and seeing the project through to completion with us, as a facilitator. We really appreciate the value that Apparo brings to the table, not only for the nonprofits, but for pro bono volunteers like us as well.
Apparo manages and shields us from scope creep, sets boundaries and helps us avoid pitfalls that we might have experienced managing the project on our own. They help coordinate schedules, deliverables, and deadlines, which takes away a lot of the administrative burden and allows us to maximize the impact of the time we spend with each nonprofit sharing our expertise. It’s been a symbiotic and beneficial relationship for us. The more nonprofits we serve, the more people we help indirectly through the mission delivery of each organization. That makes my work life more meaningful and fulfilling, giving me a greater sense of purpose.
At this point, we do almost 100% of our pro bono work through Apparo exclusively because we love having the amazing Apparo team on our team! They truly help amplify the impact of what we can all achieve together when helping nonprofits do more good.
