G.A.I.N. – powered by Lowe’s
Divergent IT skilled volunteer delivers a security assessment and incidence response plan to JazzArts Charlotte.
JazzArts Charlotte connects the cultural community and develops an audience for jazz through quality education, performance, and musician support. They support musicians and bring local and regional musicians to our area to perform. They also help young aspiring musicians through numerous education programs including, summer camps, the JazzArts Academy, and the JazzArts Ensemble and workshops.
JazzArts Charlotte completed the final phase in their journey of Apparo’s G.A.I.N. program. In this phase they received security education and were matched with skilled volunteer, Matthew Galimi of Divergent IT, who assessed their current security practices. Gailimi helped by making recommendations for improvement and also created an incidence response plan to help guard JazzArts against cyberattacks. The G.A.I.N. program is generously sponsored by Lowe’s and EY.
After completion of this project, we checked in with Ron Baldwin, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of JazzArts Charlotte and he said, “[Prior to this project], we didn’t even think about cybersecurity or technology. We were all trying to operate JazzArts. Getting into this program — we were so thankful we were selected — made us rethink our cybersecurity. It is so important to keeping our nonprofit safe. Volunteer Matthew Galimi shared, “As our first engagement as skilled volunteers with Apparo, I think it went very well. We are so happy to help JazzArts with their cybersecurity and incidence response plan. We will help them to keep their cybersecurity front and center within their organization.”
