Trane Technologies Skilled Volunteers Deliver Security Assessment to Young Black Leadership Alliance
Young Black Leadership Alliance (YBLA) develops young black men and women into leaders who will positively impact their peers, families, communities, and beyond.
YBLA completed the final phase in their journey of Apparo’s G.A.I.N. program. In this phase, they received a security assessment and were matched with Trane Technologies skilled volunteers, Sherri Leach and Tyler Ray. Prior to the assessment, YBLA stated they had a third-party security service provider, Dove Technologies, but they were unaware of the services they provided. As a result of the assessment, recommendations were given on how YBLA could best use the services provided by Dove Technologies. Through this process, YBLA discovered they have been under-utilizing this service, and going forward will use them for cybersecurity training. YBLA also completed an incidence response plan with Trane Technologies, and discovered they can use their third-party service provider for this purpose as well. The G.A.I.N. program is generously sponsored by Lowe’s and EY.
After completion of this project, we checked in with YBLA’s CEO, John Martin. He shared his praises for the skilled volunteers who helped complete this project. “Sherri and Tyler, you helped us identify the value of Dove Technologies, our third-party security provider. I just want to thank you. You guys have done an awesome job. I don’t take it for granted that you all are volunteering your time and spending weeks on end with us. Because of your work as skilled volunteers, we can now focus on driving our mission further while knowing our nonprofit is secure.”
Trane Technologies skilled volunteer, Sherri Leach, also shared her thoughts, “Dove Technologies, the third-party service provider you’re paying for put you leaps and bounds ahead of your peers. But looking at the path you have taken, it’s nice to see the overall benefit YBLA is receiving from it, and also to know the other services they provide that you were not utilizing.”
