As leaders of Slalom’s Partners for Good, Senior Consultants, Hannah Holub and Angela Tabb are the keys to the successful Apparo-Slalom skilled volunteer relationship.
Angela began her relationship with Apparo in the fall of 2020, joining a Community Impact Project team to support Alexander Youth Network with a five-year technology roadmap. She shares, “When I first heard about Apparo, it seemed like the perfect fit for Slalom. Apparo gives us the opportunity to use what we do well to help nonprofits. There is a clear alignment of vision, mission and purpose. In the project with Alexander Youth Network, it was incredible to meet so many people from across their organization. It was such a pleasure to work with them because they were so open, honest, collaborative and appreciative. Everyone was motivated to work together towards a solution.”
Enjoy as Hannah and Angela share their perspective on the Apparo-Slalom relationship:
Early this year, Angela joined forces with Hannah in the leadership of Slalom’s nonprofit community impact group, Partners for Good. Hannah explains, “We work with Apparo to match our staff to volunteer roles. At Slalom we have a wealth of talented, tech-minded individuals who want to use their skills to serve the community. We seek ways in which we can do more to impact the community using our specialized skills and Apparo is a great partner for that. They offer us access to so many more nonprofits than we could connect with on our own because we don’t have the time and personnel to do so. We don’t have to worry about building and managing those relationships. We can spread our knowledge and impact so many people because of our relationship with Apparo.” Angela adds, “Many of our Apparo volunteers want to volunteer again, which speaks volumes. They see the level of impact of their work and also appreciate the relationship they build with nonprofit leaders.”
As part of her leadership role, Angela helped kick off Slalom’s Apparo Community Impact Project team for the Dottie Rose Foundation in which they helped the nonprofit select a new learning management system to support their growth. She gained even more appreciation for Apparo through this project, “I value how Apparo takes care of all of the project scoping and admin work. Once we were onboard with this project, we were able to just get started. I love Slalom’s relationship with Apparo. I also really appreciate how much you give back to your volunteers. The Apparo-volunteer community feels very close knit.”
In the spring of 2022, Hannah helped kick off and manage Slalom’s Apparo Community Impact Project team for United Way of Central Carolinas. The team conducted a business process assessment and delivered roadmap for the nonprofit, as they face considerable growth and change. Angela shares, “We were able to use our consulting experience to identify spots in their processes that were slowing them down. It was so interesting to see people from Slalom who had never worked together before, come together to share their expertise. You can really see how the work you do is making an impact. We love to see when tech is being used strategically.”

Apparo’s Sarah Gregory shares, “As the volunteer manager for Apparo, working with Angela and Hannah is a dream come true. They are leaders who have a passion for giving back to the community. Their ability to share that passion with their team at Slalom and recruit skilled, reliable volunteers to work with Apparo is truly exceptional. Thank you, Angela, and Hannah, for all that you do!”
We look forward to more community-lifting work ahead with Angela, Hannah and the Slalom team.
