Apparo’s Tech Therapy program supports exponential growth and ability to holistically improve life for those living with brain injuries.
Hinds’ Feet Farm (HFF) is a nonprofit organization in Huntersville, NC that is dedicated to serving individuals living with brain injuries. By using integrated, unique and holistic programs their mission is to maximize the persons post injury potential and offer them a quality of life. Apparo has supported Hinds’ Feet Farm since 2018. Beth Callahan joined the Hinds’ Feet Farm team as Executive Director in 2022 and her partnership with Apparo’s Tech Therapy team began.
We checked in recently with Beth to learn about the impact of her relationship with Apparo on her and her team’s ability to fulfill their mission. Beth shared, “We’ve grown from a hay barn with one employee to eight buildings with almost 50 employees. Given this growth, without Apparo I’m sure we would be lost in the world of technology.
“While taking care of people with disabilities, and supporting them in various ways; we have complex communication needs across the medical world, with families and guardians and many other service providers. We can’t fully operate while trying to solve technology problems. Having Apparo to help us with our infrastructure, security and technology planning, budgeting, policies and procedures, makes our work more secure and allows us time to do what we do best.
“Stephanie McKee, Apparo’s Chief Technology Thought Partner) and Todd (Reavis, Apparo’s Technical Lead) are incredibly kind, responsive, patient and thorough, especially with someone like me, who has a clinical, not technology, background. They explain the importance of every technological element and how they build off each other, so that I can more fully understand. They respect the meaningful work we do and the population we serve.”
Tech Therapy drives confidence, saves time and money.
“Working with Apparo gives me the confidence that we aren’t lacking in anything. When I have a technology question, I know I can call Apparo and get a straight answer. The work they do behind the scenes is just tremendous for me. It’s so comforting and reassuring, knowing that we can trust them. And they save me time, money (including saving nearly $3,000 on our Merakis) and headaches.
“Apparo’s work on our security has been very reassuring, especially helping us successfully navigate a security breach. When we had this breach, I learned so much from Apparo. They put me at ease and I was able to speak the language of the investigators and understand the process we had to go through to address what happened.
“Without this technology and without Apparo’s support, we would not be able to provide our high level of holistic care to people with disabilities. This support has allowed us to truly be innovative from all angles of a person’s life. When you’re dealing with people’s lives, you need someone to depend on like I can depend on Apparo.”
