Here’s how we helped our nonprofit partners through Tech Therapy in July:
BackPack Weekend Food Program:
We defined the scope for their upcoming Community Impact Project, in which they will receive help selecting an application.
The BackPack Weekend Food Program, Inc. provides children in need with a plastic bag of nonperishable, individually-portioned, nutritionally-balanced food to take home in their backpacks on the weekend when school meals are not available.
Charlotte Bilingual Preschool:
We discussed how they can move their DropBox file storage to SharePoint/OneDrive, and recommended doing a Community Impact Project to do the migration and training for their staff.
Charlotte Bilingual Preschool prepares Spanish-speaking children for success in school and life by providing superior dual-language early childhood education. The preschool supports students’ families with parenting, life skills and English-language classes, enabling them to sustain and nurture their children’s educational and emotional development.
Dress for Success Charlotte:
We helped them setup parameters for their learning center desktops so multiple users can access them without making system changes.
Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
The Echo Foundation:
We defined their upcoming Community Impact Project description. They will receive a technology assessment and help selecting a database application.
The Echo Foundation brings world-renowned humanitarians to Charlotte to deliver messages that galvanize souls to action on behalf of humankind.
Habitat for Humanity Charlotte:
They will be maintaining Our Towns Habitat for Humanity’s SQL (Structured Query Language) database going forward, so we recommended bringing in skilled-volunteers to help them migrate the data and create a new database as well as help with creating custom SQL reports for one of their applications. We also scoped a Community Impact Project for both of these projects.
Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Hinds’ Feet Farm:
We are configuring a firewall to install into their network.
Hinds’ Feet Farm serves people with brain injury through providing day programs and group homes. They have three locations – Charlotte, Asheville and Wake Forest).
Hospitality House of Charlotte:
We provided a recommendation on an online auction platform and advised on using SharePoint as a Board portal, including guiding them through setting up a sub-site with specific permissions.
Hospitality House of Charlotte provides the comforts of home for families of seriously ill loved ones by offering affordable accommodations in the heart of Charlotte’s medical community.
House of Mercy:
They are interesting in purchasing two laptops, so we are reaching out to get quotes on refurbished and new options. We also provided advice on phone systems, infrastructure, and more about laptops. We acquired quotes for two phone providers andprovided recommendations and pricing on a 55″ LED monitor, HDMI adapter, Polycom phone and webcam.
The House of Mercy strives to give individual and corporate witness to the compassion and love of God to Persons Living with AIDS while embracing the value of sacredness of life, justice, human dignity, service and integrity.
OMMIT Innovative Solutions:
We provided advice on network cabling in their new building.
OMITT Innovative Solutions provides a nationally certified craft training program in Charlotte’s Inner-city and Mecklenburg County Jail. They’ve done this for the past ten years, bringing hope to the employed, underemployed and unemployed.
Our Towns Habitat for Humanity:
We are acquiring quotes for refurbished and new laptops.

Veterans Bridge Home:
We are helping them with training needs for their new SharePoint site.
Veterans Bridge Home helps Charlotte-area Veterans successfully transition home after military service by identifying their education, employment and healthcare needs and connecting them to available community, state and federal resources.
WOMEN INITIATING AND NURTURING GROWTH THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS (WINGS):
We requested quotes from various laptop providers for our annual laptop donation and training for WINGS students. We then purchased the best choice of laptops and set them up with Office 2016 and Windows 10 and assigned them to specific end users.
WINGS is a life-changing scholarship program for non-traditional female students at Charlotte area universities offered by Women Executives (WE).
