Sarah joined the Apparo team in September 2020. She brings with her prior experience in nonprofit programming and volunteer management, as well as her passion for making a positive change in the world through nonprofit work. She is thrilled to be joining a team who is dedicated to transforming the Charlotte community!

Sarah graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with her BA in Integrated Marketing Communication. Her first experience with nonprofit organizations was through her internship with the Arthritis Foundation, and she quickly knew that she wanted to continue down this career path. Following graduation, Sarah worked with the AMD3 Foundation, a small nonprofit organization that focuses on hip and knee arthritis education, where she worked on program development, data reporting, volunteer management and fundraising, among other responsibilities. After her time at AMD3, Sarah pursued her other passion in event planning at Carnegie Mellon University, where she managed both high-volume and intimate events, as well as various volunteer groups.

Sarah recently moved to NC in April 2020, so she loves exploring her new home in her spare time. She also enjoys going to concerts, weekend road trips, hiking, reading and spending a day on the lake!
