Apparo and DivergentIT helped Charlotte Rescue Mission migrate off of their on-premise servers, helping them work more effectively at helping people overcome the disease of addiction.
As a member of the Lending Tree LendaHand Alliance cohort, Trina Fullard, President & CEO, Charlotte Rescue Mission, was reminded of Apparo’s role in supporting nonprofits with improving their technology infrastructure. She reached out to Apparo for additional Tech Therapy support as her organization planned a move and knew that it was time to move away from their old, on-premise servers.
Trina explained, “Our servers were very old. There were days when we needed to reboot the servers and just prayed that they would come back up. We felt like we were just limping along with increasing our knowledge of the changes in technology.”
Apparo and Tech Therapy volunteer Matthew Galimi from DivergentIT helped Charlotte Rescue Mission choose the most affordable cloud-based server solution, Entra and streamline their Microsoft 365 licenses, saving more than $4,000 annually.
Through Apparo’s Expert Link program, DivergentIT continued to support Charlotte Rescue Mission in their migration to Entra and provided training to their team.
Trina shared, “Now our IT team has freed 35% of their time that was previously spent addressing issues related to the servers. Matthew really advanced our IT department. He built their confidence, command of our data and expertise. Without Apparo, we would have gone with a different option, at greater expense, that would have given us less control of our data and would not have built the skills of our own IT team.
“For us to serve as effectively as possible, we have to be able to communicate and document what happens in the clinical field, which is dependent on our technology systems. Instead of being behind the 8 ball, you help keep us in front of it.”
