Changes to Email Requirements
On February 1, 2024, email hosting companies like Google and Yahoo are implementing improved security to help with deliverability and prevention of spam. These changes will prevent any emails being sent from an unauthenticated email address to reach the recipient’s mailbox.
For example, if you are using an @gmail.com address to send mass marketing emails, it is highly recommended that you use an email address that matches your website domain. Constant Contact will still support “send to” email addresses from Google or Yahoo (ex. @gmail.com) but Mailchimp does not.
If you have a business domain, this change will require a custom domain authentication and a published DMARC record for anyone sending more than 5,000 emails to Gmail or Yahoo addresses in a 24-hour period. Email marketing tools like Constant Contact and Mailchimp have directions on how to make these changes. Please refer to these how-to links: Mailchimp and Constant Contact
