Joe Martin ALS Foundation thanks Apparo and CapTech for past support, which is “more important than ever” today, as they work to fulfill their mission in a new, remote environment.
In 2013, Neil Cottrell, President of the Joe Martin ALS Foundation (JMALSF) reached out to Apparo for support. The organization wanted the ability to deliver online educational content to ALS caregivers (“CALS”). Apparo matched JMALSF with a corporate volunteer team from CapTech Consulting, who also generously sponsored this project. The volunteers created an interactive virtual experience through which CALS could receive the education and training they need to support their loved ones with ALS (also known as “PALS” or People with ALS.)
Today, that experience is delivered via YouTube, but the fundamental content from this project is still in place. It has become pivotal in JMALSF’s ability to fulfill their mission. “Due to the coronavirus crisis, I can’t visit someone’s home to help them with training as I would normally, but I have the detailed videos that talk them through the support they need, step-by-step. Some of the videos have over 40,000 views. In this environment, those videos are more important than ever. I am very appreciative of Apparo and CapTech for their work that made this possible.”
