Centric Consulting skilled volunteer team will enhance student and staff experiences at GenOne Charlotte, bolstering their nonprofit mission
GenOne Charlotte is on a mission to get talented, first-generation students to and through college. They identify high-performing, rising seventh graders attending high-poverty public schools in Charlotte and involve students and their families in year-round academic and cultural programming lasting through high school graduation. GenOne cultivates social and emotional growth through cohort experiences, life skills training, and mentoring relationships through the Navigator Program. They advise college-ready scholars on higher-education school choice, financial aid, standardized testing, application submission, and career planning, as well as support and connect scholars with resources, enabling success through college graduation.
GenOne Charlotte would like to implement a new learning management system to help their students in the 24-25 school year to allow more efficiency in posting presentations, videos, and assignments, as well as tracking assignment and milestone completion. The organization would like support in identifying a solution that meets their business needs, including integrations with current programs like Airtable and G-Suite.
Apparo will walk alongside GenOne and a Centric Consulting volunteer team to implement a new learning management system for the organization. Skilled volunteers will review and document current business processes to then conduct marketplace research to determine applications that meet the organization’s business requirements and budget. Volunteers will schedule demos and guide the evaluation of the potential programs. Finally, the team will support GenOne in selecting a student-focused platform to enhance student learning experiences and streamline administrative tasks, ultimately strengthening the organization’s ability to fulfill their mission of supporting first-generation college students through graduation.
