Skilled volunteer team conducts an assessment of business processes to assist Carolina Migrant Network with a transformative application selection
Carolina Migrant Network’s (CMN) core mission is to build and sustain services for migrants targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to access compassionate and competent pro-bono legal representation. CMN hopes to create a true alliance between legal service providers, facilitators, educators, artists, and all people who want to truly exist in community with each other.
Carolina Migrant Network (CMN) currently uses multiple software platforms to track different elements of their organization including Google Docs, Excel and Questionnaires. CMN would like to enhance their data tracking abilities for grant reports, applications, participant demographics, and cases taken. This work will help streamline processes and improve data tracking so the organization can be more efficient and save staff time, bolstering their ability to focus on their mission to provide representation to immigrants facing deportation in North Carolina communities.
Apparo matched CMN with a skilled volunteer team including those from Novant Health and Lending Tree. Skilled volunteers will work alongside CMN through this Community Impact Project to support their goal of selecting a new software application to help better manage their data. The volunteer team will assess current donor management business processes in order to create a business process and requirements document that addresses the organization’s technology needs. Once this step is complete, the team will conduct research and provide an evaluation of application options to assist with selecting a platform that fits the business processes and requirements identified. Additionally, if volunteers are able, they will provide guidance on creating a data migration plan from the existing to the new system.
