Apparo Tech Therapy support frees Greensboro nonprofit to focus on environmental awareness, community engagement and creative expression
We met recently with Catena Bergevin, Executive Director of Reconsidered Goods to learn about her experience in the Arts Council of Greater Greensboro cohort and her subsequent Tech Therapy with Apparo.
Reconsidered Goods is a nonprofit that takes donated materials from manufacturers and individuals, helps divert them from landfills, and puts them into the hands of artists, makers, teachers, children, and other reuse advocates to create something new.
Catena shares, “We are on the smaller side, we don’t have a dedicated IT person, so I was so excited about the technology part of the cohort program. We had tech issues and needed help. I knew our issues, but I didn’t know what solutions were available. With Apparo, I felt understood. We had constant internet problem and phone problems, which we solved with our work during the cohort.
“Then, after the cohort program, we came back to Apparo for help to migrate our email to Microsoft 365. We had no control over our email and were running out of space. We were at a point of desperation, trying to resolve it ourselves. It was so challenging and I’m so appreciative that Todd (Reavis, Apparo Tech Therapist) was able to take it on. He was so patient. I was so glad to not be in the middle of it. I would not have known what to do. Todd made it all happen and it works perfectly.
“Having these problems solved frees up my capacity so I have more time to do my mission work.”
