Raj is a seasoned technology executive with 25+ years of experience in the financial services industry. He is known for his passion for modernizing the platforms, teams, driving efficiencies, and engineering culture with a colleague FIRST mindset. Raj has driven multi-year strategic transformation initiatives resulting in improved personalization, customer engagement, brand loyalty, and revenue while ensuring colleague learning, development, and growth. His broad technical and domain expertise and a servant leadership mindset have helped him drive transformation at scale with self-motivated teams.

Currently, Raj is the Head of Data Engineering @Ally for Bank and Digital. In this role, Raj leads a diverse data engineering technology organization and is responsible for advancing the on-prem big data platform to NextGen, leveraging AWS and Snowflake.

Prior to joining Ally, Raj led Enterprise Big Data and Analytics Platform globally as a Vice President @AmericanExpress, and put a foundation for migrating on-prem Hadoop to GCP, while leading a diverse global organization of 280+ colleagues and vendors. During his tenure at American Express, Raj has held many key leadership positions, driving innovation in key company platforms, such as Marketing and Personalization, Credit Authorizations, Fraud, Risk Management, New Accounts, Basel, and CCAR, with a focus on providing Amex with a competitive advantage in the market place. Raj has also driven the total cost of application infrastructure lower, with savings in millions during his tenure with AmEx.

Raj has a proven track record of bringing together diverse teams and empowering the organization to drive innovation, agility, and employee engagement while creating leaders and high-performance engineering teams.
