As the current Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Midrex Technologies, Curtis Hughes is responsible for the development and execution of the company's global digital and technology strategy, providing innovative and transformational solutions to customers, partners, and employees in over 20 countries worldwide.
Curtis has spent more than two decades as a trusted business leader and technology strategist for corporations and government agencies across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. During this time, he founded or co-founded three technology companies, one of which was twice named to both the INC 5000 list of fastest growing companies and Charlotte's Best Places to Work.
He frequently shares his expertise by writing on leadership and technology topics and speaking at business and technology conferences worldwide, and in 2012 was recognized as one of Charlotte's "40 Under 40" for his business achievements and contributions to the community.
Curtis holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and has served in leadership roles on the Information Technology Advisory Council for the American Red Cross and the Board of Advisors for the UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics. Curtis is actively involved in his church, serving as a deacon and children's Sunday school teacher, and also volunteers with other non-profits such as Servants with a Heart and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
