Charlitta Hatch

Charlitta Hatch was appointed as the inaugural Chief Data and Analytics Officer for the City of Charlotte, where she is leading the transformation of the city into a modern, data-informed organization. In this role, Charlitta is responsible for shaping the city's artificial intelligence strategy, including policies, ethics, and responsible use. She brings culturally responsive leadership, authentic relationship building, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Prior to joining the City of Charlotte, Charlitta spent 18 years leading complex business transformation initiatives at IBM, Accenture, and Slalom, delivering innovative solutions across multiple industries including manufacturing, utilities, and retail. Charlitta’s transformational leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including being named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 and the Mecklenburg Times’ 50 Most Influential Women in Charlotte.
A passionate advocate for youth and community, Charlitta is a three-time children’s book author dedicated to uplifting the next generation through storytelling and positive representation. She serves on the boards of the CMS Foundation, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, and Good Friends Charlotte. In 2020, she served as President of the Junior League of Charlotte, leading its 1,600+ multigenerational members through a significant membership model transition during the COVID-19 pandemic and a time of social unrest. She also served for six years as a Charlotte City Council appointee on the Civil Service Board, including three years as Vice-Chair and Chair.
Charlitta holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Hampton University and a master’s degree from UNC Charlotte, where she is currently pursuing a Ph.D.
Charlitta is married to her high school sweetheart, Mark, and together they are raising their two children, Mark III (8) and Amelia (3).
