Meet Kevin O’Rourke! He has been supporting the Apparo mission since 2007, and has been actively involved since 2014 as a member of our Board of Directors (formerly our Board Chair) and CIO Host Committee.
And his support doesn’t stop there.
Kevin has given his time through various IT skilled volunteer engagements since 2015. The first of which was a Community Impact Project he led for Patriots Path, where he and his team reviewed the organization’s business processes in order to strategically optimize their use of Salesforce.
Now, in 2019, he is serving on another Community Impact Project, this time for the Joe Martin ALS Foundation. This project involves a technology assessment to create a tech plan that will enable Joe Martin ALS to budget for anticipated technology improvements and ultimately be more efficient and secure.
In addition to sharing his own time and skills, he has recruited other Apparo volunteers. Two of these instances involved helping Mental Health America of Central Carolinas and Union County Community Shelter receive Salesforce trainings.
Kevin also supports Apparo financially, through personal gifts as well as rallying the gifts of other individuals and corporations. Last year he hosted a peer-to-peer campaign, which successfully introduced many new faces to our mission and captured their support. He has also hosted CIO Experiences, where companies bid on time to network with a CIO and the proceeds benefit Apparo. This year his CIO Experience involved volunteering at Classroom Central – a win-win for two philanthropic entities!
Additionally, since 2016, Kevin has brought his companies on board as sponsors of the ConnectivIT® Series – Apparo’s biggest fundraising event. Now he sits on Apparo’s Sponsorship Committee to gather even more sponsors that support our work.
Remarking on his support of Apparo, Kevin said:
“Having been involved with Apparo for more than ten years, it’s been rewarding watching it grow and have a successful impact on the community. I love that I can leverage my technology skills to help others in the best way. That is what it’s all about.”
Kevin, thank you so much for all you do to enhance the greater Charlotte area’s nonprofit community. Apparo is more effective, thanks to you.
