Apparo’s CIO Insights, a series of five forums, gives local CIOs and other IT professionals exclusive opportunities during the year to hear from leaders in the technology industry around hot topics, business challenges, and solutions and best practices, as well as to network with business partners and peers. This forum’s topic was all about leveraging technology to close the IT talent gap.

Topic Background: In its report “Future of Work: The Global Talent Crunch,” Korn Ferry, an organization firm, predicts a deficit of 85.2 million workers worldwide by 2030. Implications are great for employers, and even greater for the U.S. economy overall. According to the study, by 2030 skills shortages may knock our nation down from the status of a global tech center and leave more than $160 billion on the table.
Thank you to our panelists for channeling this topic and sharing how their organizations utilize technology to close the IT talent gap:
- Reenie Askew – CIO for the City of Charlotte
- John Mitchell – Director of Digital Strategy & Delivery at Duke Energy
- Ted Prendergast – Head of Technology Recruiting at Red Ventures
As well as a big thanks to our facilitator:
