Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta is seeking skilled volunteers to help assess their needs and create a plan to address infrastructure and technology pain points.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBS), works with volunteers, parents, and families to create one-to-one mentoring relationships that defend, inspire, and empower the potential that lives within every kid. Their mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
BBBS has recently experienced rapid growth with staff head count increasing from 34 to 100. Although enrollment processes were also recently streamlined, review/adjustments to technology was not addressed. Their services are delivered across multiple programs, each with its own delivery model that requires coordination/integration of multiple technology components.
BBBS would like to have a comprehensive technology plan and would like one to evaluate their overall technology stack, identify areas for improved efficiencies, and provide a strategic roadmap that better positions them for growth over the next 3-5 years.
The scope of this project includes a technology assessment of the organization’s current infrastructure, operations, security, and technology policies. The outcome will be a comprehensive technology plan and roadmap which identifies gaps and pain points, creates an integrated technology plan, and improves long term efficiency.
Recommendations will be provided that includes but not limited to the following:
- Infrastructure (firewall, internet/bandwidth, WiFi)
- IT support and maintenance
- Software applications
- Security including data backups and firewalls
- Technology policies
- Training needs
- Overall technology budget
- Timeline recommendations
Key Project Steps
- Documentation of current state of technology along with the identification of risks, pain points and inefficiencies
- Prioritized specific technology recommendations, identification of quick wins (simple changes that will result in significant improvement), and longer-term recommendations
- Recommended timeline and estimated cost for implementation of each recommendation
This project is based in Atlanta, but all work can be done virtually.
