Hylaine volunteers support CYC through identifying a solution to create efficiencies in data processes
Carolina Youth Coalition (CYC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that nurtures and prepares high-achieving, under-resourced students to enter, excel in, and graduate from college so they can spark lasting generational change and return to their communities as leaders, innovators, and advocates for others. Their programs promote intellectual and emotional exploration and risk-taking by offering programs that allow students to think and express themselves freely.
Currently, the organization experiencing challenges with the software used to manage donor, volunteer, and client data. CYC reached out to Apparo for assistance because to analyze and report on this data, they are exporting data from one software program into spreadsheets, and then formatting data into charts and visuals manually. CYC hopes for assistance addressing software challenges to improve their ability to analyze data. They know they are limited by their current capabilities and staff capacity and that there is room for growth. Specifically, they want to track data across years and are unsure if the system they are utilizing supports this and other capabilities such as integrating email and event marketing platforms.
Apparo matched CYC to a Hylaine skilled volunteer team through this application selection Community Impact Project. This volunteer team will work alongside CYC to assess their processes and their current software capabilities to determine if their is potential for integrations and streamlining, or if they should leverage a different program. Through this assessment, volunteers will create a business process and requirements document. Following the assessment, the volunteer team will work with the organization to determine if their current program can meet their needs and if not, will assist will identifying a solution that best fits the requirements. CYC hopes to improve their student intake application process, create efficiencies in other data processes, and ultimately create more time to focus on their mission of supporting students and sparking lasting, generational change.
