Event raised $32,685 to support Charlotte-area nonprofits through technology improvements
CHARLOTTE, NC— [October 9, 2018] — Apparo, Charlotte’s only local nonprofit that partners corporate IT professionals with nonprofits in need of technology solutions, raised $32,685 at its 3rd annual Community Impact Breakfast held on October 5. The funds were raised through individual gifts and include a $5,000 challenge match gift from Jean and Mark Miller. The money will help Apparo deliver technology solutions to empower Charlotte’s nonprofit community.
“Technology helps nonprofits unleash their innovation and become more efficient,” Kim Lanphear, CEO of Apparo, said. “We continue to be humbled by the support we receive from the community, and remain dedicated to empowering nonprofits with technology solutions.”
The Community Impact Breakfast unites local leaders, change-makers and philanthropists who are ready to make a difference and transform nonprofits using technology and collaboration. Laura Belcher, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte, was the event’s featured speaker.
“We remain grateful for the important work Apparo does in the Charlotte community,” Belcher stated. “Apparo has enabled Habitat to be more efficient, which ultimately allows us to partner with more families for affordable homeownership as we build strength, stability and self reliance through shelter.”
Through Apparo’s work, Charlotte nonprofits are providing higher quality services, increasing their impact and doing more with less. Since 2003, Apparo has served more than 425 nonprofits, delivering more than $13.5 million in technology solutions. Apparo is a multiplier in the community, using each dollar raised to generate $1.60 of value to nonprofits in the community.
“Nonprofits work tirelessly to solve social and economic issues in Charlotte, but many of their organizational models, budgets and staffing structures are struggling to keep up,” Lanphear added. “That’s where we come in.”
The 2018 Community Impact Breakfast sponsors included: Accenture, AccruePartners, Bank of America, CapTech, Jabian Consulting, Novant Health, and TriNet.
