Many Apparo nonprofits partner with us in a multitude of ways over time. We call this collection of interactions their “Apparo Journey.” In the journey pictured below, you will see how Stand for Animals has worked with Apparo since 2014. Stand for Animals believes that every family deserves to have a pet and their mission is to make pet care affordable to all through low cost services and payment plans. They have received Tech Therapy and a Community Impact Project (delivered by volunteers from Skookum) to improve their ability to fulfill their mission, enabling them to grow from one spay-neuter clinic to three full service veterinary locations. Apparo has delivered more than 132X ROI on Stand for Animals’s investment.
We caught up recently with Cary Bernstein, Executive Director, to hear about the impact of her work with Apparo on Stand For Animals ability to fulfill their mission.
Cary explains that she began conversations with Stephanie McKee when her organization was only 18 months old. “Before Apparo, we were disjointed in our use of technology and weren’t able to project our future needs. Stephanie’s support is vital to us. She understands our business and gives me security through her advice and counsel. She gives me the information I need and information is power.”
Key highlights of support Stand for Animals has received from Apparo, include:
- Identification of lower-cost, higher quality IT service provider
- Implementation of new internet phone system
- Optimization of network infrastructure, including server, internet and phone service
- Development of app-based remote patient check in process (Community Impact Project delivered by Skookum)
Cary attributes the successful growth of her organization from 5 employees to 57, from 1 spay-neuter clinic to 3 full-service veterinary clinics to the cost savings and smart technology decision making that her work with Apparo enabled. “We were trailblazers, there was no model to follow. All other clinics were using paper-based systems for records and appointments. We weren’t going to do that. Without our current efficient use of technology we couldn’t provide the services that we do at the affordable cost our clients need. Because of Apparo, we can provide every family with the ability to keep and care for a pet. Everyone deserves that.”
