APPARO ANNOUNCES MICROSOFT’S PRESENTING SPONSORSHIP OF THE 2015 DIGITAL BALL
MARCH 18, 2015—Apparo, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers Charlotte-area nonprofits with technology solutions that enhance their missions, is delighted to announce that Microsoft Corp. will be the presenting sponsor of Apparo’s annual Digital Series of Events and Ball for the second consecutive year. The event will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Apparo is an active presence in Charlotte’s nonprofit community. To date, Apparo has served more than 350 nonprofits, providing them with $7.2 million worth of technology solutions to serve more, care more and do more with their missions. In the past twelve months, 1,590 volunteer hours were logged through Apparo at 67 agencies and more than 110 corporate partners engaged in transforming the nonprofit community with IT solutions.
“Microsoft is honored to work with Apparo, an organization that has done so much to connect nonprofits with the resources needed to serve and do more in the community,” said Jack Braman, vice president, East Region, Microsoft. “At Microsoft our mission is to help people and businesses realize their full potential, and together with organizations like Apparo, we are helping to create real impact in the Carolinas for a better tomorrow.”
Microsoft offers Office 365 to eligible nonprofits, and the Digital Ball sponsorship aligns with Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to providing nonprofits affordable access to the technology they need to support their local community.
“We are thrilled to have Microsoft as the 2015 Digital Series of Events and Ball presenting sponsor,” said Kim Lanphear, Executive Director, Apparo. “Microsoft understands the impact technology has on nonprofits. Apparo has seen it first hand—it’s transformative. The right technology solutions have enabled nonprofits to do in minutes, what once took them hours. Nonprofits save time, money, and manpower, and can focus on mission-specific activities when they are equipped with the right tools.”
Microsoft also sponsored Apparo’s 2014 Digital Ball, which attracted nearly 600 guests, including 30 CIOs from Charlotte’s corporate IT community, and raised $800,000 to support empowering nonprofits through business and technology.
“Microsoft has a strong local presence in the Carolinas and believes in empowering nonprofits through technology to help them boost their productivity and expand their positive impact on their communities,” Braman said. “We are very excited to be sponsoring Apparo’s Digital Ball for the second consecutive year and bringing attention to the passion and commitment of the local nonprofit community.”
