Apparo Releases AI Playbook for Nonprofits at SHARE Charlotte Workshop: Empowering Social Impact Through Expert Guidance and Hands-on AI Training
Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 Apparo led a sold-out SHARE Charlotte workshop, How to Put AI to Work for Your Nonprofit. Nonprofits gathered bright and early Wednesday, welcomed by hosts Apparo and SHARE Charlotte for a day of hands-on AI learning. To begin the day, Apparo’s Chief Technology Thought Partner, Stephanie McKee presented her newly published nonprofit guide for effectively adopting and implementing artificial intelligence. She shared actionable tips for audience members to understand how to decide what’s right for an organization and what to avoid.
All attendees received a digital copy of the AI Playbook for Nonprofits and SMBs. Get your digital copy here.
Stephanie shares thoughts about the Playbook release, “For the last decade, my professional passion has been to share my technology knowledge and experience with nonprofit organizations. Over the past year, I have developed a strong interest in exploring and learning about GenAI tools. Each day, I am consistently impressed by the efficiency gains from using tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT, and I take great pleasure in sharing these insights with nonprofit organizations. I am pleased to announce the recent AI for Social Good Playbook launch. This initiative aims to create an AI guide specifically designed for nonprofits and small businesses, providing fundamental knowledge of AI, strategies for implementation within organizations, ethical considerations, and guidance on utilizing prompts to achieve optimal results.”
Following Stephanie’s presentation, she was joined by Apparo’s Jennifer Ray, Kevin Carney of Kingsmen Software, and Truist’s Joe Fuqua for a Fireside Chat on Real-World AI Use Cases, revealing how they implement AI, success stories, and lessons learned, empowering attendees with information and insights to broaden audience understanding of AI.
Finally, Shereese Floyd, Founder of AI Consultants for Nonprofits, led an interactive session about the importance of using prompts in AI tools. She demonstrated how to use ChatGPT prompts effectively and guided attendees through hands-on exercises to help achieve better results when using AI tools. This exercise was followed by a group discussion to share experiences and insights.
Nonprofit leaders left the workshop with a clear view on next steps for implementing artificial intelligence to help further their nonprofit missions.
