Apparo’s Digital Leaders Council Unite at Nourish Up, Packing 390 Boxes and Providing 8,190 Meals
The Digital Leaders Council (DLC) is Apparo’s exceptional network of tech leaders, bringing thought leadership, resources, and influence to the community. They’re firm believers in technology’s power to transform lives and communities. Recently, Apparo’s DLC joined together for a day of hands-on service at Nourish Up (formerly Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays).
Nourish Up is on a mission to end food insecurity. Their goal is to lift our community up through food, providing groceries to our neighbors in need in Mecklenburg County through the largest network of food pantries in North Carolina, grocery home delivery, and healthy meal delivery each weekday through their Meals on Wheels program.
Ally’s Andrew Swistak reflects on the experience, “The biggest impact for me was learning how much of a difference Nourish Up creates in the lives of those with food insecurities. I’m constantly impressed with how an organization of this scale can have such a substantial impact on Charlotte communities. Whether you volunteer as an individual or with a group like Apparo, I encourage anyone to step through those doors and contribute to this life-changing mission“.
Apparo’s DLC united at Nourish Up, where they spent the afternoon preparing boxes of groceries for our neighborhoods in need. Together they packed 390 boxes, ultimately providing 8,190 meals to individuals facing food insecurity.
Sue Bruce, Marketing and Events Director from Nourish Up shares, “At Nourish Up, we depend on an army of volunteers to help us get food into the homes and on the tables of families in need. Last year, we provided groceries to over 137,000 people in Mecklenburg County which is a 29% increase over 2022. We couldn’t have done this without the support of our community and partners like Apparo. Each box packed by the amazing Apparo team provided groceries for one person for an entire week”.
