Innovative award celebrates local tech leaders who donate financially and with their time and talents to help area nonprofits.

CHARLOTTE, NC— [September 30, 2019] — Apparo is pleased to announce Courtney Ramey as the winner of its inaugural TechExec Community Impact Award. This award celebrates local technology leaders with a proven track record of donating their time, talents and treasure to support area nonprofits in need.

Ramey, the Executive Director of Jabian Consulting, received this top recognition for her philanthropic contributions to the community. She has donated hundreds of hours of pro bono skilled volunteering to uplift local nonprofits struggling with technology. Additionally, Ramey is an influential woman in tech who specializes in developing and implementing growth and optimization strategies for medium and large companies. She has led teams through multi-year, multi-million dollar programs involving complex technology and business change.

Apparo announced the award winner at their annual Community Impact Breakfast on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Hilton City Center in Charlotte, NC. The event raised nearly $45,000 through individual gifts from the community. The funds will help Apparo deliver technology and business solutions to empower Charlotte’s nonprofit community.
“Words cannot express how thankful we are to receive such strong support from the community,” Lanphear added. “Every single dollar invested in Apparo results in $1.67 invested in Charlotte nonprofits, and every dollar truly does count. We remain focused on our mission of helping nonprofits help more people in need by leveraging technology.”
Through Apparo’s work, Charlotte nonprofits are providing higher quality services, increasing their impact and doing more with less. Since 2003, Apparo has served more than 500 nonprofits, delivering more than $13.5 million in technology solutions.
“Nonprofits work tirelessly to solve social and economic issues in Charlotte, but many of their organizational models, budgets and staffing structures are struggling to keep up,” Lanphear added. “That’s where we come in.”
The 2019 Community Impact Breakfast sponsors included Accenture, Bank of America, Jabian Consulting, Novant Health, Ally, OpenText and Talend.
