A skilled volunteer helped optimize the use of Salesforce at Shining Hope Farms, so that they can more efficiently provide their critical therapeutic services to those in need of wellness, strength and hope.
Shining Hope Farms was founded in 2002 to provide therapeutic services in an enriching farm environment. The purpose of the farms’ services is to improve the quality of life of the participants as well as their families. Shining Hope Farms’ programs have been structured to serve individuals and groups with a variety of disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Developmental Disabilities, Brain Injuries, Hypotomia, and the like. Their clients find wellness, strength, and hope on the back of a horse.
Jessamyn Farrell, Assistant Director of Shining Hope Farms, came to Apparo for support in optimizing their organization’s use of Salesforce to meet their needs to track programs and volunteers. Unfortunately, they had not budgeted for this work. Fortunately, through our Tech Therapy program, she was matched to skilled volunteer Saravana Rajan to help identify needed customizations and other adjustments.

Apparo’s Tech Therapy offering is an incredible benefit to the community and was a real blessing to us. It’s really wonderful that it exists. How lucky is Charlotte to have you all? In terms of some feedback, more than anything, the engagement got us to meet regularly and start formalizing our scattered thinking so that we could start moving forward with an actionable plan.
We came to Tech Therapy very disorganized in what we were realistically trying to accomplish in our transition to Salesforce and how we were going to get there. Our goal was to come up with a plan as well as get some nagging outstanding questions answered that were stalling us.
Because of the Tech Therapy engagement we were able to come up with a road map for how we’re going to move forward and establish a workflow. We have sustained a weekly meeting time to work on our plan which has kept us motivated to continuously make progress. We have even been able to roll out several pieces of our plan already which is amazing.
This has already made a huge difference to our organization and allowed us to go paperless in at least one area and is saving us time in another.
