In this CXO Tech Insights forum, panelists Sukai Crook of Honeywell, Darrell Thompson of Coca-Cola Consolidated, Samantha Williams of Sonoco, and Matt Barrington of EY discussed AI transformation with moderator Mark Richter of WalkMe.
Topic Background: The emergence of AI offers enterprise IT leaders a unique opportunity to instigate meaningful change to drive innovation and business outcomes. The challenge is getting people to use it. In this panel session we heard from your CIO peers on where they are in their AI transformation journey
During the panel, the moderator discussed the following questions with our panelists:
AI maturity
Organizations are in varying levels of maturity in generative AI, from still evaluating the right business cases, to experimenting with pilot programs to full implementations across major parts of the business. Where is your organization in that journey and how are you using or planning to use AI?
Visibility & control
Research shows that almost 80% of AI users at work are bringing their own AI, and not just Gen Z, across generations. Some organizations are enabling employees to experiment and innovate, while others are adopting a more secure/risk-averse posture. What is your organization’s stance on BYO AI or shadow AI?
Experience fragmentation
Most of your large enterprise vendors are already pushing an embedded AI copilot of some sort for specialized workflows and use cases. Along with BYO tools, this inevitably creates fragmentation of the overall AI experience – what is your perspective on this eventual fragmentation and how is your organization prioritizing the right people and use cases to enable in your AI initiatives?
Adoption and proficiency
Successful AI adoption requires investing in trust and training. About half of people already using AI are reluctant to admit using it, and both AI users and non-users fear being replaceable. What is your organization’s approach to upskilling teams and ensuring trust and acceptance of AI as an augmentation, not replacement of talent?
Business outcomes
Can you share examples of how AI has been successfully applied in your organization to solve specific business challenges and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency or innovation?
AI is constantly evolving, and organizations must stay agile. How do you ensure that your teams remain adaptive to the rapid changes in AI technology, and how do you iterate and scale AI projects to respond to new opportunities and challenges?
