Steve Hagood

Steve Hagood is senior vice president and chief information officer of Trane Technologies. In this role, Steve leads the company’s global information technology (IT) organization and is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s information technology strategies that support sustainability, innovation and an uplifting culture.
Prior to joining the company, Steve spent 19 years with the Goodrich Corporation, most recently as the company’s vice president and chief information officer. With more than 30 years of experience, he has held multiple executive and financial leadership roles in the aerospace and defense, manufacturing and service industries.
Steve serves as executive sponsor of the Trane Technologies Intergenerational Employee Network. He regularly lends his leadership to industry and community organizations, including Project Scientist, Apparo, Loaves & Fishes, Inspire CIO and Charlotte CIO Executive Summit. Steve chairs the Board of Directors for Project Scientist, a nonprofit organization committed to providing underserved girls with STEM education. For over a decade as a former Board co-chair, he has supported Apparo, a non-profit that provides technology innovations to other nonprofits in Charlotte. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the NIBCO company, a private plumbing and pipe-fitting company, co-chair for the Charlotte CXO Executive Summit, and as a current member of E50 Advisory Board, a national CIO peer networking organization.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has been recognized as CIO of the Year in 2014 and 2019 by Inspire Charlotte CIO.
