Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy is seeking skilled volunteers to help assess their consolidating and storing their data for easy team access.
Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (CCLA) helps people in the Charlotte, North Carolina, region who cannot afford legal services, but desperately need them. Without legal representation in civil matters, thousands of families can lose access to financial security, healthcare, housing and opportunity. They accomplish their mission through a variety of advocacy strategies, including individual advice and representation, community education and outreach, representation of groups, self-help remedies, collaboration with other agencies, community economic development, legislative and administrative advocacy, and impact litigation.
Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy has grown significantly in the recent years . CCLA would like help with printing and storing their client legal documents. The project would assist with creating a process to scan client legal files to their online system, LegalServer. The volunteer team will work with CCLA to document process on best method to scan, save, upload documents. They will document a basic training guide to use after project wraps
Project steps include:
- Create a project plan for uploading client files to online system
- Determine how the documents will be scanned. CCLA has a scanner at their offices.
- Determine who will be scanning and uploading the documents
- Create a timeline
- Create a training guide for CCLA staff to use after project is complete
