Mark led Accenture’s Technology Advisory practice for Accenture’s Communications, Media, and Technology clients. In this role, he worked with CIO and CTO clients to understand and pivot to “New IT” via technology transformation. Mark had been with Accenture for over 25 years, with roles in technology, process, human performance, program management, outsourcing, and technology strategy.

Mark led Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship work for Charlotte since 2012. In this role, he mobilized engagement in a variety of endeavors to improve our Charlotte community. This included managing strategic Skills-To-Succeed grants to Urban League, Patriot’s Path, Dress for Success, Junior Achievement, A Better World Charlotte, as well as other programs.

Mark believes that it is important to be directly involved, teaching at the DFS Professional Women’s Network, serving at Urban Ministry and Garden of Eatin’, and judging the IT-ology Blue Diamond Awards.

In 2016, Mark increased Accenture’s long-standing engagement with Dress for Success in Charlotte. Accenture piloted a digital platform based on Google technologies to improve client service. The platform connects DFS with local partners for referrals, provides training, and tracks client services. Accenture is currently in discussions with DFS about a national solution using a packaged solution and broader partner network.

In response to the Economic Opportunity Task Force findings, Mark is sponsoring a Charlotte-wide strategy to develop and implement a digital platform to enable Collective Impact. Accenture has led two working sessions with large nonprofits and government agencies, including Foundation for the Carolinas, United Way, Goodwill, CharlotteWorks, Charlotte Mecklenburg HHS, CareRing, Apparo, Crisis Assistance Ministry, and Charlotte Bridge Home. Based on the response, Accenture is creating a strategy and pilot with FFTC and United Way, beginning April 2017.

Mark and his wife Jean live in uptown Charlotte, and enjoy the philanthropic energy in this growing and vibrant urban center. They have two children, both grown, independent, and wonderful.

Mark is a graduate of Kansas State University, with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He is a long-time supporter and engaged alumni, including serving on the KSU IMSI Advisory Board, 2006-2011.

Some of Mark's hobbies include running (well, hobbling usually), great food, craft beer, attempting to sing in the church choir, and travel.
